“I’ve been blessed to coach track and field athletes and loved every minute of it,” said Arkansas women’s head coach Lance Harter. “Philosophically, I always wanted to give my athletes every opportunity to be as successful as their dreams allowed.
“Yet, many times I had to convince them by asking ‘why not you’ to have their dream come true. It’s been an honor to coach so many and assist with fulfilling those dreams.”
A 9-Time NCAA Coach of the Year, 45-Time SEC Coach of the Year and inductee to the USTFCCCA Coaches Hall of Fame, Harter announced in November 2021 that he would retire following the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in June 2023.
Sport & Story President Victor Vitarelli expressed his enthusiasm for the exceptional work delivered by the Hogs+ team, as they skillfully showcased the profound impact of Coach Harter on the Razorbacks Track and Field program. “We are thrilled to bring the spotlight to such a pivotal figure in college sports,” said Vitarelli.
The series was directed by Hogs+ Producer Haley Ordway, whose previous work includes the 3-part documentary series celebrating 100 Seasons of Razorback Men’s Basketball, Do You Believe in Fairy Tales, and additional features for Hogs+.
